TOBAM is an asset management firm established in Paris, France registered and authorized by Autorité des Marchés Financiers (“AMF”) – the French Markets Authority. TOBAM is also an SEC registered investment adviser.
TOBAM was formed by Yves Choueifaty and colleagues in 2006 as the Quantitative Asset Management Group within Lehman Brothers Asset Management Europe. In 2008 the business was bought by the employees.
TOBAM’s flagship Anti-Benchmark products provide clients with diversified core equity exposure, both globally and in domestic markets. The fully quantitative process (patent pending) provides a broad exposure to the available risk premia and avoids the concentration of risk that is found in Market Cap-Weighted benchmarks. Anti-Benchmark strategies can provide better returns than market cap-weighted benchmarks with typically lower risk.
FTSE also publishes the FTSE TOBAM Maximum Diversification Index Series based on the Anti-Benchmark equity portfolio construction methodology.
The Anti-Benchmark methodology has been applied successfully to other asset classes. The team at TOBAM have broad experience in asset management and investment including Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Commodities and Volatility products.
